Semiconductor sales jumped >22% W/Y last week, as sales pulled up from 2021 levels. The IC weather warmed 2˚F last week, reversing a 4-week trend. Zooming in on Auto IC growth this week, 13-wk MA growth is close to 25% Y/Y. It started the year with much hotter growth than expected, now forecast to finish 2022 around +23% Y/Y, reaching $35B.
TechInsights’ IC Supply/Demand indices moved back to Tight, as conditions improved in More Moore and More than Moore Foundry. Though DRAM did drop down to Saturated. NAND dropped out of Shortages to Tight in the 2Q NowCast. IDM, OSAT, Auto, and Analog & Power were unchanged.
