Semiconductor sales pulled up as the shortage continued to drive demand, with record sales in the $10-12B/week range. The IC weather held at 88°F last week.
Semiconductor Sales growth continued to hover above the 20% Y/Y bar last week. While high, unsmoothed weekly growth is below last year's shortage-inspired surge.
Zooming in on DRAMs this week, 13 wk MA growth is holding in the mid-double-digit range, driven in part by the intersection of AI and HPC. Growth is forecast to slow, finishing 2022 +15% to $110B.
TechInsights' IC Supply/Demand indices were mixed last week, with More Moore Foundry slipping to Saturated and MtM to Loose, while Auto ICs returned to Shortage levels. Unchanged were DRAM, NAND, IDM, OSAT, and Analog & Power. Overall conditions remain Tight, where they have been since 24 Sep 21. Though More Moore Foundry slipped to an average of Saturated for 1Q22.
