2023 is going to be a down year for semiconductor spending. Chipmakers have caught up to demand and the inventory buildup turns from a tailwind in 1H22 into a headwind in 2H22 and continues into 1H23 recession. Memory suppliers are cutting their spending particularly hard. The recession is also spreading into Logic/Foundry as well as DAO.
