TechInsights has updated 2022 estimates for equipment and subsystems. Combined Critical Subsystems sales are expected to have grown 10% in 2022 (Y-o-Y), surpassing $22B.
Semiconductor Critical Subsystem revenue is expected to come in at 11% growth in 2022, propelled by a strong WFE market. Headwinds are in full force and the semiconductor market is slowing down significantly in 2023. Therefore, we expect semiconductor critical subsystem sales to decline 18% in 2023 as chipmakers rein in spending to assess the slowing demand.
Critical Subsystems for FPD are expected to have fallen 4% in 2022 (Y-o-Y) and slump another 5% in 2023. The PV Subsystem market continued to grow in 2022 and is expected to finish the year with 30% growth followed by high single-digit growth in 2023.
2024 is forecasted to be a recovery year with double-digit growth in the Semiconductor Subsystem industry. FPD Subsystems are expected to recover in 2024 with single-digit growth. PV Subsystems are expected to have continued growth in 2024, this time increasing by single digits.
