The Sony IMX914 CMOS image sensor (CIS) is primarily designed for smartphone front camera applications. This CIS was extracted from the dual-front camera of Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (models A3525 and A3257). This Sony IMX914 is a 24 MP, 1.0 µm pixel pitch, stacked back-illuminated (BI) CIS using Sony's Exmor RS technology with optical image stabilization (OIS) and phase detection autofocus technologies. The sensor features a square pixel array, enabling users to capture effective 18 MP photos in both landscape and portrait modes without the need to physically rotate the camera.
