Global handset shipments saw slight growth decline in Q3 2025, with 5G smartphones outpacing 4G and lower protocols. Samsung leads in 5G shipments.

Global annual handset shipment growth was down slightly in Q3 2025. Global 5G smartphone shipments are growing with 5G shipments more than double that of 4G LTE, 2G and the nearly dead 3G markets. Samsung captured the top spot in global 5G handset and half of the top 10 global handset vendors showed positive shipment growth in the quarter.
