We research the publicly available data from the HuggingFace website to analyze trends in AI models in this insight. Our research suggests that while NLP is still the dominant category of models, its growth is slowing. Computer Vision models are experiencing a renewed interest and is the fastest growing category of the past six months. More than half the models published on HuggingFace have fewer than 1 billion parameters. We also summarize implications of these trends for hardware companies and things to watch out for.
