In June, the Microprocessor Report team entered the Battlematrix, cutting through the complexity of Intel's latest inference workstation platform to examine the GPUs at its core. We explored server CPUs from Intel (the new Xeon 6 SoC family, codenamed Granite Rapids) and AMD (the entry-level EPYC 4005, codenamed Grado). Furthermore, we dove into the advanced technology behind Meta's upcoming Orion augmented reality (AR) glasses and provided another "Essentials" article that offers a comprehensive overview of silicon photonics. We cataloged 284 device launches and three new IPs in June.
