Global handset shipments declined by 1.5% YoY to 339.6 million units in Q1 2025. The adverse geopolitical climate and the US tariff imposition were among the major reasons for this downturn. Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi topped the global vendor rankings. Indonesia, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia were among the smaller nations that topped the smaller markets. Most of the top smaller markets witnessed a YoY decline. Local vendors continued to account for a very small share of 3% of the consolidated volumes to 60 countries in the quarter.
