Apple Captive Silicon Market Model Q1 2025 - Double Digit Growth Driven by New Designs

Apple's captive silicon, led by A-series, M-series, and S-series application processors (AP), shipment volume grew 16 percent year-on-year in Q1 2025. Meanwhile AP revenues jumped up 25 percent in the same period due to higher average chip costs. Apple's A-series APs are used in iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod Touch and HomePod while the M-series APs are used in iPad, MacBook, Macs and the Vision Pro devices. Meanwhile, addition starting this quarter, new S-series are used in Apple Watches are tracked back to 2017. Also new is Apple's C1 5G modem which was introduced with the latest iPhone 16e smartphone design.
