AMD Continues Advancement in the AI Datacenter Chip Market
1 Min Read July 2, 2025
Track AMD’s impressive datacenter growth and key milestones—including MI355 specs rivaling NVIDIA’s B200, ROCm software traction, and MLPerf benchmarks—as it targets a 13% market share by 2030.
AMD's datacenter revenue increased by three times ($3.7 billion) in Q1 2025, compared to three years ago in Q1 2022 ($1.3 billion). While this is still dwarfed by NVIDIA’s 10-fold increase during the same period (3.75 billion to 39.1 billion), there's a strong sense of optimism coming from AMD and its partners that it is likely to experience further growth. AMD’s product specs for its latest product, MI355, put it on par with NVIDIA’s B200. It has, for the first time, published training results to MLPerf, and AMD’s ROCm software suite continues to gain traction on GitHub. These developments are in line with our prediction that AMD will get 13% market share by 2030. Monitor the developments on the ROCm software suite closely to understand if AMD will perform better than predicted.
