As sales of the ageing Switch continue to decline, Nintendo finally announced the release details and specifications of its anticipated successor, Switch 2, set to arrive on retailers' shelves on June 5, 2025. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa described Nintendo Switch 2 as the next step in at-home gaming that can be taken on the go, based on eight years of play and discovery that began with Nintendo Switch.
