Insight: Q1 2024 Connected TV Results – Android TV Becomes the World’s Largest TV Streaming Platform

Global connected TV device shipments declined 4% year-on-year (YoY) in the first quarter of 2024, reaching 63.85 million units. After a strong performance in 2023, demand for game consoles declined by 31% year-on-year in Q1 2024 while smart TV shipments grew modestly at 3% and digital media streamers declined by 3%. Connected TV device shipments are expected to grow by 2% in 2024, driven by a return to growth for smart TV sales after an underwhelming performance during the post pandemic years.
