indie Semiconductor’s investment in Expedera aims to add Expedera’s neural processing unit (NPU) semiconductor intellectual property (IP) to indie’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) silicon and software portfolio. Artificial intelligence (AI) is used (among other applications) in ADAS for processing data from multiple sensors to identify objects, predict, and make decisions about how the vehicle should react and respond to its driving environment. TechInsights forecasts the ADAS semiconductor market will grow at a CAAGR of 18% over 2023 to 2028, will this partnership allow indie Semiconductor to become competitive in the ADAS processor market?
