The MediaTek Bluetooth Chip MT2822AA consists of the front-end portion of the Bluetooth 5.2 low-energy transceiver, microphone drivers, accelerometer drivers, possibly several clock generators, clock drivers, a USB transceiver (or an unknown analog interface), a processor and DSP core, power management, and several core memories. Comparing this headset to the Sony WH-1000MX3 Wireless Noise Canceling Stereo Headset model analyzed by TechInsights in 2020. The design of the WH-1000X5 headphones changed. Instead of Qualcomm’s Bluetooth chip there is a newMediaTek Bluetooth SoC.The number of microphones increased from sevento nine. The WH-1000MX5 has more sensors: Accelerometer/Gyroscope, Pressure Sensor, and Compass while there is only a Pressure Sensor in the WH-1000MX3. In both headsets there is the Sony CXD90050 Noise Cancelling Processor. Like other over ear headphones,non-electronics parts and assembly are large part of device costs. The most expensive supporting material is thecarrying case. In this model, the internal speakers are sealed to housing and the external covers (headphone frame and headphone cover) are attached with latches and screws. The voice coil dimension is 17.84mm and total distance it can move is 1.1mm. ANC microphones are located around headphone frames.
