Global game console shipments grew by 32% year-on-year in Q1 2023 to reach 10.3 million units. Shipments of Sony's PlayStation 5 skyrocketed as the company has finally overcome the supply shortages and logistics challenges of the last couple of years. Sony's strong performance was not matched by its two long term rivals Nintendo and Microsoft whose shipments fell by 31% and 24% respectively during the quarter.
