The Sony ALT1350 component is the first cellular IoT SoC combining LTE-M/NB-IoT, unlicensed spectrum protocols, and satellite (NTN) connectivity in one chip, enabling smaller, lower-power, cost-efficient devices. It features ultra-low power modes (PSM, eDRX), an AI engine for edge processing, indoor/outdoor positioning, a sensor hub, and supports 3GPP release 15/16/17 LTE-M/NB-IoT standards. With multi-layered security, integrated iSIM, and broad vertical applicability (e.g. smart meters, wearables, trackers, connected health), it accelerates IoT development while supporting emerging trends. Basic characteristics of the ALT1350 component and the 5NP5 die extracted from the component are investigated in this report.
