Explore Huawei’s comeback—8 straight quarters of shipment growth reached 15.1M in Q1 2025. Learn how subsidies, 5G expansion, and market dynamics shaped its revenue and China market lead.
Huawei's global smartphone shipment increased for eight quarters in a row, reaching 15.1 million in Q1 2025. Although the annual growth rate has slowed down, it outperformed the total market. Meanwhile, Huawei's smartphone wholesale average selling price (ASP) declined YoY in two consecutive quarters, amid the intensified competition in the high-end segment in China, as well as the extended 5G portfolio in the mass market. The shipment growth offset the soft ASP, delivering a high single-digit growth in smartphone wholesale revenue this quarter. Largely driven by the government's smartphone subsidies, Huawei registered a double-digit growth and topped the Chinese smartphone market, which is the first time since 2021, following the US sanctions.
