China's smartphone market recorded 9% YoY shipment growth in Q1 2025. The national consumer 3C subsidy scheme boosted demand during the traditional holiday season and reshaped the country’s competitive landscape. Vendor rankings shifted significantly, with Huawei reclaiming the top position, followed closely by Xiaomi. Both vendors achieved double-digit growth and benefited most from the subsidy scheme. OPPO/OnePlus and vivo ranked third and fourth, respectively, with shipments remaining steady from a year ago. Honor and Apple placed fifth and sixth, both experiencing negative growth. These top six vendors comprised 96% of China's smartphone market volume this quarter.
