Renesas SoC Offers Boost for Industrial Motor Control

The RZ/T2H is Renesas’s highest-performing microprocessor for industrial equipment, targeting Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT controller equipment like programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motion controllers, distributed control systems (DCSs), and computerized numerical controls (CNCs). It is billed as a single-chip solution for industrial systems that traditionally require a combination of multiple processors and FPGAs to control.
The RZ/T2H is available immediately, priced at $49.28 in 10-unit quantities. Renesas recently launched a similar device, the RZ/N2H, which is designed for industrial networking applications available in a smaller package. In keeping with typical company practices, Renesas did not divulge the manufacturing process node of either new device.
