Developments in EV Charging and Grid Systems Integration

The rapid advancements in conventional charging devices present an opportunity to address consumer concerns. Combined with technological improvements in EVs and streamlined operations, these developments may, over time, help revive EV demand, which experienced a decline in Europe and North America in 2024. Growing standardization of interfaces and broader access to ultra-fast charging stations with 800 V architectures for all EV owners could further reduce consumer reluctance. This report reviews the progress in charging infrastructure over the past year.
