Apple continues its design tradition of using an aluminum enclosure fitted to all internal components. The MacBook Pro A2991 is a laptop that features a fan-based cooling system. Between the Apple processor and heat pipe we found a lot of thermal paste. The laptop is equipped with cooling fans that help to dissipate heat from the internal components, including the CPU. The fan draws in cool air from the outside and blows it over the heat sink to keep the temperature within safe limits. In addition, the MacBook Pro has a heat pipe system that transfers heat away from the CPU and GPU to the heat sink. This helps to spread out the heat and prevent any one component from getting too hot. We found two cooling air intakes in the bottom enclosure and a cooling air outlet between internal enclosures and display.
The battery can be charged by using the MagSafe3 port with support of fast charging or one of the three Thunderbolt 4 ports. The Touch ID sensor is part of the Power Button. It features a 16.2-inch mini-LED display with a resolution of 3456 x 2234. The LCD panel enables refresh rates of up to 120Hz. It runs the macOS 14.1 Sonoma operating system. The system of spacers with elastic heads supports the main board. Protection resin covers the electronic parts on the keyboard and touchpad board. There are no internal expansion sockets or slots. RAM, ROM, and WiFicomponents are soldered directly onto the PCB.
