Due to sanctions, Huawei is unable to use Gorilla Glass to cover the display, which led to the development of Kunlun Glass, used by the whole P60 series. While it’s difficult to assess the differences between it and Gorilla Glass without stress testing and comparing both, Swiss SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) has given it 5 star drop resistance certification. It is supposed to be manufactured by CongqingXinjingSpecial Glass Co., Ltd, but the markings didn’t allow for verification, while any kind of analysis of the structure and other properties of the glass are beyond TechInsights’ current capabilities.
As opposed to flagships from Samsung and Apple (the S23 Ultra and the 14 Pro Max respectively) which use rather conventional cameras, Huawei decided to introduce a shutter to their main cameras to allow for aperture adjustment. It isn’t the first time a shutter has shown up in consumer phones, for instance previously Samsung used different arrangements of them on their Galaxy 10 series devices. To the best of TechInsights’ knowledge, the Huawei P60 is the first phone to have included it recently.
