Global smartphone apps processors (AP) with on-device artificial intelligence (AI) increased 2 percent year-over-year in Q2 2025 corresponding to higher mix-shift towards premium APs shipped in the quarter. Qualcomm, MediaTek and Apple APs continue to dominate the absolute volume of on-device AI designs in Q2 2025. This report tracks quarterly shipments of key smartphone AI AP chips for major vendors, splits between deterministic and the new generative AI capabilities, and includes provisional estimates up to Q1 2026.
