Global smartphone shipments are expected to grow 1% in 2025, with Apple surpassing Samsung as the largest vendor, tied in 2026 under best-case scenarios.

TechInsights slightly revised upward its 2025 and 2026 global smartphone shipment forecasts in this version, driven by the better-than-expected performance in 1H 2025, recovery signals in the Africa and Middle East region, as well as eased tariff concerns. We expect global smartphone shipments will marginally grow 1% YoY in 2025, and the market will remain flat in 2026 under the best-case scenario. Apple will surpass Samsung to become the largest smartphone vendor in 2025. However, Samsung is expected to catch up and tie with Apple in 2026.
