Follow Transsion’s Q1 2025 performance — see how shipment declines, market challenges, rising costs, and intensified competition affected its global smartphone ranking.
Transsion fell to fifth position in the global smartphone market in Q1 2025, after climbing to fourth position in the previous quarter. The company's three brands—Tecno, Itel, and Infinix—posted a combined 22% YoY shipment decline, underperforming the total market's 0.5% YoY growth. Before Q3 2024, the combined Transsion brands had enjoyed five consecutive quarters of growth. The Chinese vendor faces significant challenges across its major markets: weakening demand in emerging markets, a more restrictive Russian business environment, rising component costs, and intensified competition from Samsung and other Chinese brands. The latter two factors, in particular, continued to hurt the vendor's profit margin in Q1 2025.
