In the latest Advanced Entry and Start System Supply & Fitment Database, TechInsights observes an increasing number of new models featuring an external camera authenticating vehicle entry and/or an internal camera authenticating engine start. A few models have implemented capacitive fingerprint sensors, but a leading solutions provider FPC (Fingerprint Cards) has said that the automotive sector will no longer be seeking this method and move to facial and iris recognition cameras instead.
