Global handset shipments fell 2% YoY in Q1 2025. Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, vivo, and Huawei led key markets amid shifting vendor rankings.
Global handset shipments returned to negative growth in five quarters, by -2% YoY, in Q1 2025, mostly affected by weaker performance of feature phones than expected. Apple and Samsung became the number one handset vendors in six countries respectively while Xiaomi became the number one vendor in Russia. vivo topped the chart in India. In China, Huawei rose to the number one vendor position.
