With unused inventory available to support their vehicle production needs, OEMs and Tier 1s have continued to pull back from ordering semiconductors in the first quarter of 2024 and this was reflected in the TechInsights Auto Semi Index shrinking in the first quarter of 2024. For the full year, our preliminary projections suggest that there will continue to be a shortfall in revenues versus demand as the “false slowdown” predicted by TechInsights in 2021 continues to be worked through.
