Q1 2024 – Transsion: Africa’s Phone King Continues to Expand Internationally

Transsion retained its position as the fourth largest smartphone vendor and the leading feature phone player in Q1 2024. Its three in-house brands – Tecno, Infinix and itel – collectively shipped 28.5 million smartphones and 20.5 million feature phones. This corresponded to YoY smartphone shipment growth of +87.5%. The majority of this growth stemmed from Transsion’s key expansion markets of Central & Eastern Europe, Central & Latin America and finally Asia Pacific, whilst the Middle East & Africa remained a key volume contributor. For the first time, smartphone volumes in Asia Pacific rivalled volumes from the Middle East & Africa, revealing the scale of Transsion’s international expansion.
