TechInsights reports that foldables remain a niche segment, and while Samsung holds a narrow lead, competition is already threatening its dominance. Huawei and OPPO are rapidly closing in on Samsung, while other new entrants are making the foldables market more competitive. Global foldable display smartphone shipments grew by double digits annually in Q2 2023. Samsung had a tough quarter whereas competition brought new highly competitive devices to the market. Motorola made a spectacular comeback with Razr 40 lineup and Chinese vendors are ramping up their offering and strengthening their portfolio.
