Deep Dive Teardown of the Huawei 96 Line LiDAR L106 LiDAR Sensor

In late 2021, the first model of a new vehicle brand called Salon Automobile debuted. It was equipped with four of Huawei’s new 96 Line hybrid solid-state LiDARs and it’s called Mechdragon. It claimed to be the first car which used four LiDARs. Huawei’s device covers a horizontal range of 120° so a simultaneous use of four of them eliminates all dead zones around the vehicle and gives full 360° coverage. It also achieves a range of 150m and its vertical FOV is 25°. Huawei equipped this LiDAR with an intelligent heating system that helps in various weather conditions. Part of it is integrated in the Tx/Rx Glass Filter.
