North America Tablet Vendor & OS, Unit & Value Market Share by Country: Q1 2023 Results

After beating the global market during the holiday quarter, North American tablet shipments lagged global growth rates at -22% year-on-year in Q1 2023. While inflation rates are on their way to returning to normal levels in the US and Canada, they were still in the 4-5% range in March. This is a tough environment wherein consumers have limited budget to spend outside of necessary items due to persistent inflation and further economic uncertainty. Commercial budgets are also being pulled back in the uncertain environment, which has depressed Windows detachables shipments, a strong point for North America compared to most other regions.
