Wafer Demand Forecast Summary Q3 2025 Update
1 Min Read Sep 30, 2025
See how the AI surge is redefining the semiconductor landscape, driving HBM expansion and boosting DRAM’s wafer share from 16% to nearly 21% by 2030.

The semiconductor market is increasingly bifurcated, with AI-related segments fueling robust growth while the rest of the industry faces headwinds from weaker end-market trends and inventory digestion. This AI boom is particularly evident in high-bandwidth memory (HBM), where surging demand is reshaping the DRAM landscape. The larger die sizes required for HBM manufacturing mean that DRAM currently accounts for 16% of total wafer allocation—already the largest single share—and this proportion is projected to reach nearly 21% by 2030.
