On September 9, 2025, Apple unveiled its latest smartphones: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This time, Apple skipped the iPhone 17 Plus and launched a slimmer iPhone 17 Air. The key upgrade on iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max includes the most advanced A19 Pro chipset and a 48MP triple rear camera setup. For iPhone 17, the display was upgraded to OLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate, and dual 48MP cameras were the key unique selling point. Apple managed to maintain similar pricing for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max, with just a $100 increase for the 17 Pro and 17 Air (from the predecessor Plus models). We expect the iPhone 17 series, including the Air, to surpass the predecessor iPhone 16 series in global shipment volumes in 2025.
