Analysis: Lenovo-Motorola Grew the Highest Among Top 10 Smartphone Brands in Q4 2024
Lenovo-Motorola grew 15% YoY in Q4 2024, shipping 15.3M smartphones. Strong India growth, rising ASPs, and premium models drove revenue up 21%.
Lenovo-Motorola shipped 15.3 million smartphones globally, for a market share of 5%, in Q4 2024. It grew a strong 15% YoY in the quarter and was ranked eighth in the global smartphone market. The company grew very strongly in the Indian smartphone market. As a result, Asia Pacific's Motorola shipment remained ahead of North America in this quarter, similar to Q3 2024, when it happened for the first time since 2018. Estimated smartphone wholesale revenues grew 21% YoY, bolstered by an ASP growth of 5% YoY for the quarter. The retirement of the low-priced E series, while the double-digit growth of the high-end Edge series (driven by the strong performance of the Edge 50 series) and premium Razr series, as well as the enhanced 5G product portfolio in the G series, led to this ASP growth.
