Analysis: vivo Tops China and India Smartphone Market in Q4 2024

vivo shipped 26.8 million smartphones worldwide for a market share of 8% in Q4 2024, growing a solid 12% YoY in the quarter. The vendor remained top five smartphone vendor ranking for the quarter, behind Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and Transsion. vivo topped the chart in both China (for three consecutive quarters) and India (for two quarters in a row) smartphone market this quarter, two of world’s largest smartphone market. Driven by this solid 12% smartphone shipment growth annually, estimated smartphone wholesale revenue grew 11% YoY amid the slightly negative wholesale ASP growth. Higher mix of relatively lower-priced smartphones like vivo Y series, iQOO series, etc. has led to the ASP decline for seven quarters in a row. The affordable Y series accounted for a half of the Vivo’s smartphone shipment.
