Narrative: Global Handset Vendor Marketshare for 15 Countries: Q4 2024

Global handset shipments rebounded for five quarters in a row, by 3% YoY in Q4 2024, signalling that emerging countries show more clear signs of stabilization. Several Chinese brands including Lenovo-Motorola, vivo, realme, Xiaomi and Huawei as well as Apple drove the shipments growth. Apple and Samsung became the number one handset vendors in eight and four countries respectively while Xiaomi became the number one vendor in Russia. vivo topped the chart in China. In Japan, Lenovo-Motorola rose to the number three for record-high 8.4% share, only behind Apple and Google, largely boosted by FCNT (Fujitsu) acquisition last year and multiple new product launches during the quarter.
