The Samsung K9AKGD8J0B die features Samsung’s eighth-generation (V8) 236-Layer 3D NAND flash memory. The dies were extracted from the Samsung K9DYGY8J5B-CCK0 NAND flash packages, contained within the Samsung MZ-V9P4T0 990 PRO 4 TB SSD, released in September, 2023. The V8 3D NAND features an I/O speed of up to 2.4 gigabits per second (Gbps), a 1.2X boost over the previous generation. The Samsung MZ-V9P4T0 990 PRO 4 TB offers near-maximum performance in a PCIe 4.0 interface, with sequential read speeds of up to 7,450 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,900 MB/s, as well as boosted random read and write speeds of up to 1,600K and 1,550K IOPS, respectively.
