Deep Dive Teardown of the Apple Mac Mini A2816 Personal Computer

The Mac Mini A2816 runs the M2 Pro/APL1113 64-bit dodeca-core applications processor, manufactured by TSMC for Apple. With the M2 Pro chip the Mac Mini offers 1.9x faster performance compared to the previous generation with the 2.6x better graphics performance. The Mac Mini features four Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB-A ports, and a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack. All these slots are situated on the front panel of the device with a power button, DC-in and a Fan louver.
The Mac Mini has a cooling system which includes a cooling plate attached to the heatsink and fan which supports air exchange through a hole in the front part.
The Mac Mini A2816 supports up to three displays: two displays with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz over Thunderbolt and one display with up to 4K resolution at 60 Hz over HDMI while the predecessor supported up to a single display in full 8K resolution or 4K resolution display over HDMI 2.0.
To sum up, the Mac Mini A2816 has changed mostly inside. We can pay attention to the newer ICs that are used, e.g., Processor, RAM, ROM, and WiFi/BT Module. In addition, two Thunderbolt connectors have been added to the housing compared to Mac Mini A2348 (previous generation).
