UX Benchmark: 23MY BMW i7

TechInsights conducted an evaluation of the infotainment system in the 23MY BMW i7. As consumers expect from the brand, it is packed full of technology and has won number of awards. TechInsights evaluated the key elements which stand out in this vehicle namely the head-up display, the AR like instrument cluster, and the theatre experience. The HUD and instrument cluster have many benefits but are let down by presenting some information on the HUD instead of the cluster and vice versa. The rear seat entertainment is certainly a showstopper presented on a large, high-quality screen allowing for high immersion and it is very intuitive to use. There are some concerns around comfort for the driver as it limits seat movement as well as passengers due to potential motion sickness and a reduced feeling of spaciousness.
