After three consecutive years of IC unit growth, a sputtering global economy and weakness in key markets such as PCs and smartphones are expected to drag down worldwide IC shipments, says a new update.
After increasing three straight years from 2020 to 2022, worldwide integrated circuit (IC) unit shipments are forecast to decline slightly more than 4% in 2023. Total IC shipments are expected to fall to 391 billion units this year after surpassing 400 billion units for the first time in 2022, according to the new May 2Q Update of The McClean Report.
