Samsung Foundry's Next-Gen GAA Process Expected in Galaxy Watch 7

Discover the latest innovation from Samsung Foundry with their next-gen GAA process expected in the Galaxy Watch 7. TechInsights analysts provide insights from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Conference, building on last year's groundbreaking SF3E process technology.

TechInsights analysts are at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Conference, counting down to the expected announcement of Samsung Foundry’s latest SF3 process technology. It has been almost exactly a year since TechInsights discovered a chip fabricated using the first generation SF3E process.

That was an industry-first gate-all-around (GAA) transistor design, a key technology for the next generation of devices. It was released, unannounced, in a low-volume cryptocurrency miner, the MicroBT WhatsMiner M56S++. A year later, and it seems that Samsung Foundry feels its GAA technology is ready for prime time in one of its flagship devices, the Galaxy Watch 7.
