Renesas Motor Control MCU Integrates Cortex-M85, MRAM
1 Min Read Oct 23, 2025
Explore Renesas RA8T2 microcontrollers with a 1 GHz Cortex-M85 core and embedded MRAM, engineered for precise, high-end motor control and advanced industrial networking.

Renesas RA8T2 microcontrollers for high-end motor control feature the highest-performing CPU core in its class—a 32-bit 1 GHz Cortex-M85—and are the first industrial-class MCUs to embed MRAM as the primary nonvolatile memory instead of traditional flash. The devices are equipped with a rich set of motor control features, including support for pulse-width modulation timers running up to 300 MHz, with complementary, asymmetric PWM capabilities, dead-time insertion, and phase-counting functionality for precise inverter and multi-phase motor control. The RA8T2 also integrates industrial-grade networking and communications support, including dual Gigabit Ethernet MACs with direct memory access and Time-Sensitive Networking switch functionality.
