MWC Shanghai 2023 returned to the stage after China lifted most anti-covid lockdown measures since 2019. Compared with its peak day, MWCS scaled down this year and turned out to be a more domestic-oriented event, which echoes the recovery tone of the local tech industry. In the smartphone domain, most Chinese vendors became conservative, such as Xiaomi, with very limited presence. Foldables continues to occupy the spotlight in the 5G phone domain, while deeper integration among smartphone, vehicle, and IoT ecosystems is catching eyeballs.
