Global wearable shipments dropped 1% in 2024 but are projected to grow by 1.9% in 2025 and 2.9% in 2026, driven by Apple and smartglasses growth.
Global wearable shipments declined by 1% in 2024 and are forecasted to grow by 1.9% in 2025 and by 2.9% in 2026. This follows declines of 5% in 2023 and 6% in 2022. In this iteration, we have extended the forecast out through 2026 and have added Meta to the total wearables sheet. Despite tariff uncertainty, which led to a downgrade of the 2025 forecast, growth in 2025 and 2026 will be driven by a strong update cycle for Apple and high growth in smartglasses (albeit from a low base). Apple, Huawei, and Samsung are expected to remain the global market leaders. In addition to total wearables, device type breakouts for smartwatches and fitness bands are included. This report forecasts global wearables shipments by device type by quarter for 20 of the world's most prominent vendors from 2017 to 2026.
