The iPhone 15 Pro Max A2849 is the highest model in the newest generation of Apple’s smartphones. It’s intended for the American market as it’s packed with 5G mmWave antennas and chips.
There are three major changes to the 2023 Pro Max model:
Apple developed a periscope telephoto camera which is present in nearly all other major flagship phones from competitive companies. Here is a comparison to Samsung S23 Ultra – focal length 120 mm (230 mm – Samsung), sensor size 1/3.06” (1/3.52” – Samsung), aperture size f/2.8 (Samsung – f/4.9), pixel size the same (1.12µm), optical zoom 5x (Samsung – 10x).
The main enclosure of the phone is now manufactured from titanium instead of stainless steel. This design change makes the frame more durable and lighter than in previous versions.
The lightning connector was replaced with an USB Type-C connector which is the first time Apple has used Type–C in an iPhone – this change is present in all iPhone 15 models. The data transfer rate increased to 10 Gbit/s compared to 480 Mbit/s for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but the user must buy a cable that supports USB 3.0 because the one included in the box is an outdated USB 2.0 version. The silent mode switch has been removed. Instead, they added a separate multifunction button like in the Apple Watch Ultra.
