MediaTek reported Q1 2025 results on April 30th 2025. The Taiwanese fabless firm achieved the mid-point of their previous revenue guidance for the quarter. Despite the uncertainty of global tariffs, the outlook for the rest of 2025 remains optimistic but clearly introduces a wildcard into the mix. MediaTek continues to pursue a diversification strategy to ease their dependence on the mobile phone business.
MediaTek highlighted business in the quarter was driven by increasing AI and WiFi 7 adoption. During the quarter, MediaTek released an updated Dimensity 9400+ SoC to bolster their flagship product lineup. However, main driver of this mobile growth came from mid-tier to value segment chipsets and not the leading flagship Dimensity line.
