Analysis: China OEM Approaches to E/E Architecture

Vehicle Electrical/Electronic Architectures (EEAs) are evolving, from distributed to highly centralized and integrated. The logic behind this evolution is that combining resources and centralizing information processing will improve vehicle decision-making efficiency, give faster iteration speeds, and lower overall costs. Compared to global automakers, Chinese automakers' EEA deployment shows distinct development characteristics regarding architectural leadership, evolutionary path, and supply chain relationships. This report analyzes and summarizes the current and next-generation EEA architectures of thirteen Chinese companies, including traditional automakers, automotive startups, and incremental Tier 1s for intelligent vehicles such as Huawei.
