The word “AI” is just what the stagnating notebook PC market needed. Microsoft’s introduction of CoPilot has further boosted the AI PC Market, and over $2 billion worth of processors were shipped in Q2/24. This represents a 2.5X increase from a year ago, Q2/23. Apple, Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and MediaTek are the top players in the AI processor market. Apple is the market leader with 47% share. Intel has achieved 40% market share despite being a late entrant in the market. ARM architecture-based processors accounted for over 90% of the AI PC processor shipments last year. In Q2/24, X86 has made headway into the market with 48% shipments. Over 85% of the processors offer 10 to 30 TOPS performance, although we expect the performance to increase in the near future.
